March 4th – Children and Music of all Lands & World Fair Presentation Workday

March 11th – No Friday Activities: Regular School Day

March 18th – World Fair Presentations
·       Students will be sharing their presentations with their classmates, in preparation for the evening community open-house – “It’s a Big World After All.”
·        “It’s a Big World After All” – evening open house from 6:00 – 7:00. International appetizers will be provided.  Invite your family and friends. Vote for your favorite presentations! 

March 25th- No Friday Activities: Regular School Day

April 1st – Awesome Art Day: Mosaic Masks

April 8th – No Friday Activities: Spring Break

Children of All Lands

Friday Enrichment Activity Invitation:
Children and Music of all Lands & World Fair Presentation Workday

On Friday, March 4th students are invited to participate in an exploration of life for children around the world.  Students will learn about how children from other counties might dress, eat, and play as well as explore various international music styles.
PLUS MORE: The students who are creating presentations for the world fair will have the opportunity to work on their presentations in the computer lab. 
Younger Grades (K – 2nd Grade)
·         Session 1 :           8:00 am – 9:55 am – Children and Music of all Lands
·         Session 2:            10:00 am – 12:00 pm – World Fair Presentation Workday

Older Grades (3rd – 6th Grade)

·         Session 1:            8:00 am - 9:55 am – World Fair Presentation Workday
·         Session 2:            10:00am – 12:00 pm– Children and Music of all Lands
Busses will pick up at the regularly scheduled morning times and will return at noon – Out of town students will need to stay for both session unless a parent arranges to pick them up.

Feb. 25th - A Tour of the Past

Friday Enrichment Activity Invitation:
A Tour of the Past w/Dick Perue, Story-Telling Rehearsal, and Pizza Party!
What was it like living in the Platte River Valley nearly one-hundred years ago?  What would ranch kids do for fun?  How has life changed since then?  How has it stayed the same?  On February 25th students are invited to learn the answers to all these questions and more through a special multi-media presentation by local historian Dick Perue.  Students will even get to take home a piece of history for themselves!  Please plan on meeting in the library.
Plus More: There will be a story-telling rehearsal for all participants.  Please plan on attending this rehearsal so you will be ready to participate in the March performance!
Plus Pizza!!

Feb.11th - Cake Decorating

Friday Enrichment Activity Invitation:
Cake Decorating /
Valentine Making Party
Back by popular demand, on Friday, February 11th students are invited to learn about and participate in cake decorating.  Students will be working with fondant and pipe icing to create masterpieces of their own design.  Students will also have the opportunity to create their own paper valentines. 
Session 1: 8:00 am – 9:55 am K-2nd Grades
Session 2:  10:00 am – 12:00 pm for 3rd-6th Grades

Busses will pick up at the regularly scheduled morning times and will return at noon.
***Special Note:  This is a potentially messy project involving greasy icing and food dyes.  Please have your student wear appropriate work clothes. ***

Feb. 4th - Clay Building Workshop

Friday Enrichment Activity Invitation:
Clay Building Workshop w/ Maura Jacobsen
On Friday, February 4th students are invited to attend a hands-on clay building workshop with artist Maura Jacobsen.  Maura has been a studio artist for the past fifteen years, and works exclusively with hand-thrown and hand-glazed stoneware.  She lives and works in Cheyenne, where she teaches art throughout her community, as well as in other elementary and secondary schools.
Students will have the chance to learn about the art of clay-building, as well as craft their very own piece. 
Session 1: 8:00 am – 9:55 am K-2nd Grades
Session 2:  10:00 am – 12:00 pm for 3rd-6th Grades

Busses will pick up at the regularly scheduled morning times and will return at noon.
