The Nutcracker

Friday Enrichment Activity Invitation:
The Nutcracker

On Friday, Dec. 3rd students are invited on a field trip to Laramie for the UW Department of Theatre and Dance’s performance of Tchaikovsky’s The Nutcracker.    We will leave the school promptly at 8:00 and return at 2:00.  Busses will pick up at the regularly scheduled morning time, but parents will need to pick their children up promptly from school.
All students should bring a water bottle and a sack lunch.  Please feed your children a good breakfast or encourage them to attend breakfast in the lunchroom so they do not go hungry.
IMPORTANT: In order to finalize our reservations, we have to have a solid head count by Wednesday the 1st.  Students need to turn in their permission slips by the end of that school day.
If you have any questions please contact Angela Tourney @ 307-710-6218 or ATourney@crb2.k12.wy.us

There were lots of compliments to be had for the students who went on the field trip to Rock Springs.  The Rangers at the Capitol Christmas Tree commended our students for being the most behaved and respectful group they had seen all day.  The ice-skating rink managers also mentioned several times how polite and well-mannered our students were.  Way to go SES!

Nov. 12th - Field Trip and Science Posse

Friday Enrichment Activity Invitation:
Field Trip to Rock Springs / Science Posse Workshop

On Friday, Nov. 12th K-4th grade students are invited on a field trip to Rock Springs.  Students will get the opportunity to view the Capitol Christmas Tree (in route to D.C.) and visit with Mary Cernicek, the Capitol Tree Coordinator and a Bridger-Teton National Forest Educational Liaison.  The students will also get a chance to ice-skate at the Rock Springs Ice Arena.  Ice skates will be provided and general assistance will be given to all students who have never ice-skated before.
Students need to bring a sack lunch, and warm clothes – including coat, hat, gloves, and thick socks.
Busses will pick up at the regularly scheduled morning times and will return to the school at 3:45.  Parents need to promptly pick up their children at the school.
Fifth and sixth grade students will get to participate in the Science Posse’s Science ALIVE: CDC Wyoming workshop (in the SES Cafeteria) from 8:00 – 11:00 am.  Students must have turned in their special permission slips last week, and completed their pre-coursework in order to participate.

We still need volunteers for the field trip, so if you’d like to join in on the fun, or if you have any questions please contact Angela Tourney @ 307-710-6218 or ATourney@crb2.k12.wy.us
